DOCTOR OF THELOGY (Th. D.)
This program of study demands of the candidate’s mastery of a particular area of theology and an original contribution to learning in some specific field. The candidate must complete the number of advanced-level courses required by the department chosen in consultation with an advisory committee, pass comprehensive examinations, and produce and defend a doctoral dissertation.

DOCTOR OF RELIGIOUS PHILOSOPHY (D.R.P.)
When a student has completed beyond the Master’s level through ALU and completes a dissertation of 20,000 words a Doctor of Bible Philosophy or Theology will be awarded. Transfer credit is not accepted into the Doctoral program. All coursework must be done through ALU.

Purpose: The Doctor of Christian Counseling degree provides intensive training in the Christian counseling method. The curriculum centers on counseling techniques based on the biblical worldview. This program is primarily for the enhancement of the counseling ministry and is not intended for secular certification.
Credit Requirements: The students are required to complete a total of 52 credits, a Christian education research project will be required for completion.
This program is a directive study. Upon re-enrollment, academic advisors will assess the candidate’s background and provide a specific academic program.
